Last night

I ran 6 miles averaging sub 9 min miles. Yay!

Then this happened..,








And then...
Hail and rain with 80mph winds (according to the weather advisory)



(found them on my balcony. I'm sure they were bigger before impact)

And the highlight of the night:::


Yes, that's a lightning bolt as seen from my balcony.Chicago weather is CRAZY! It's nights like these when I'm extremely happy I don't have a TV. Standing on my balcony tonight watching/ photographing the wild storm trumps anything on TV.


What are your weekend plans?

-I'm hoping for a double digit run Saturday morning pain free. then I plan to relax the rest of the time and run more.

    Great job on the run! I am glad you got it done before the weather hit.

    I have a couple of long rides planned this weekend and can't wait. Good luck on your double-digit run. I can't wait to hear about it!

    I was working last night where I wasn't anywhere near windows to see what was going on, but I heard it was fairly crazy. This morning when I went running along the lakefront there were a lot of trees that were down, one huge tree even uprooted by Navy Pier. Wish I would have gotten a peek at the craziness.

    WOW that hail is ridiculous!

    Storms like that are amazing...they just blow in and it's like someone flipped a switch. We had a storm sort of like that the other night, I loved it.
